"A good stance and posture reflect a proper state of mind- Unknown"

What is posture?

Posture is the position in which we hold our bodies while standing, sitting, or lying down. Good posture is the correct alignment of body parts supported by the right amount of muscle tension against gravity. Without posture and the muscles balance holding body in upright position is simply impossible. We do not consciously maintain normal posture. Instead, some muscles does that for us and we don't even have to think about it. Certain muscles like, pectoral, scapular, erector spinal muscles, pelvic, hamstrings. Ligaments and tendons hold the skeleton together.

Why well aligned posture is important?

Good posture helps us stand, walk, sit, and lie in positions that place the least strain and pressure on joints, on muscles and ligaments during movement and weight-bearing activities. Good posture will help to decreasing the abnormal wear and tear of joint ligaments and tendon that could result in degenerative arthritis, over use muscle disorders, strain and joint pain and will minimise the injuries. Good posture Allows muscles to work more efficiently, allowing the body to use less energy and, therefore, preventing muscle fatigue.
